Etisalat Nigeria is no more.
Etisalat International has announced that it’s severing ties with its Nigerian arm and will give Etisalat Nigeria 3 weeks to stop using the brand name. While there has been rumours of Orange and Vodafone Group being “strong running” to buy 65 per cent of Etisalat Nigeria following Etisalat’s exit from the troubled operator, its evidently clear that a whole lot of re-branding will follow and a whole lot of work to promise its customers of unshakened trust. Before it becomes history the memorable time and stiff challenge it gave its fellow compares, we take a brief minute to discuss some of the unforgettable ads it churned out within its short time in Nigeria
For a brand that has sponsored big projects such as Nigerian Idol, Kids Say the Darndest Things, Etisalat Prize for Literature and also have had big entertainment icons such as Olamide, Frank Donga, Genevieve Nnaji, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Simi as brand ambassador, its only fair to say they have made a huge impact in the telecomms industry in Nigeria.
In no particular order, here are the adverts that we think we go down to be a classic in the nearest future.
